Meet the Principal

Hello, this is Chris Goyden, and I am thrilled to begin my first year as your principal here at Bergen Elementary!

I’ve spent my entire career in Jeffco as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal, and I am honored to serve our school community as your principal.

I believe school should be built on positive relationships and be a place of both high expectations and immense joy. I am eager to immerse myself in the remarkable work already underway at Bergen.

A little bit about me…I enjoy jogging, hiking, reading, and catching up on the latest streaming shows! I have two daughters at home, a senior and a sophomore in high school.  I also have a grown daughter that lives in Florida with her husband and their toddler (our grandson!) Carter!  My wife and I are in love with being ‘grammy and pop’!

I look forward to building a partnership with each of you as we engage in the important work of educating our children.  I believe we must innovate, create, and take risks to continue to be our best for our students. 

At Bergen, we believe it takes our whole community to shape our youth and we ask for your support. We pick each other up when we fall down, we say sorry when we make mistakes, we presume the positive in one another, and we will do everything it takes to be our best each day for your child.
